10. The most important question: In which of the above can students consider making use of these media for Gospel outreach? How is this done at your school?
Our mission at Bethany is to produce compassionate graduates firmly grounded in Christian faith and teaching who reflect Christ’s love with integrity, character, and unshakable values. Many of our creative assignments at Bethany give students the freedom to explore their interests, develop original ideas, and apply their learning to various branches of media. As a result, we have seen a variety of creative projects that employ media for Gospel outreach. Here are a few representative examples:
- Four student artists created a series of comic-style posters for Christian missionaries in Zambia.
- A media arts senior created a music video and motion graphics series for his Christian rap album.
- A graphic design senior created emotion flash cards for children using characters from the Bible.
11. If any of the above are not occurring, would you like them to, if you had the resources to do so?
12. Any future plans in this regard?
We've created a new interdisciplinary laboratory for producing media for virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality. In order to train the next generation of producers and scholars, this lab provides a creative space for students to take an AR, VR, or MR project from inception to completion, providing the opportunity to program, design, record, test, and realize all in one place. The next wave of advancement in the field of communication will provide great opportunities religiously, academically, and commercially for individuals who are ready to lead, and the lab aims to place Bethany students into this position.
